Thanks for stopping by! For the next week or two (in case you didn’t read last week’s update) I’ll be offering non-story content, then it will resume with Yesterday Dies Tomorrow!
Thanks James! It's all brush work…I read from a book on inking, and discovered that I've been holding the brush wrong for years. Once I changed that, I realized I had much better control of the brush. You've been busy with important real life stuff… Hope the move went well! The pin-ups you've been posting on GIS and deviantart have been great! It's a nice evolution of your style.I've been bad with the commenting on everybody's stuff as of late… Sometimes I just bury myself in the art and lose track of everything else! It's the artist introvert
I now hold the brush between the thumb and forefinger, and balance it on my third finger… gives me more control. Previously, I just held it between the thumb and forefinger. That's the way I've always used a pencil or pen since I picked up my first crayon. Made for some incredibly sloppy handwriting. It infuriated some of my elementary school teachers (but to be fair, one of them was evil to the core), and my mom had to tell them to chill out.
Really, I don't think it matters how you hold the brush, pencil or pen as long as you are comfortable with it and can achieve precise control. Just look at the way Kazu holds his pencil. It's a freak of nature! And his artwork is super spectacular.
I did notice a difference.. I don't think I had NEARLY as much control as what I do now. But I guess since I'm getting old, I'll probably lose control of other stuff.
Sorry I've not been by recently. It's looking great. This is some epic poster! Nice linework in particular.

You're so self-absorbed, Jerry! J/K! :OP
Who better than myself to be the center of my universe? 😀
BW's shadow has a long reach.
It certainly seems to tie all of these characters together, doesn't it?
Theres quite a few boobs in this poster! …and a few ladies too! [ha-CHA-cha-cha]
Now with bonus cha!
Love it, Jerry! You are a first class designer!
Thanks Mark!
Cool poster Jerry! I'm wondering how you held the brush before?

Ha ha! That's weird! You're a weirdo! :OP

I truly am a weirdo! I wear that badge proudly! 😀
