Die Now, Die Later! Page 39

What a verbose confrontation!
So… Racer Lad wasn’t dead after all… or as The Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail would say, “It was just a flesh wound”! Since RL’s on the payroll for the good guys (WILCO) it only seems logical that he would try and take in the Number 3 person for the crime organization known as The Directorate!
Trivia point – For those of you wondering why the countess is shouting stuff in Italian and German, she has the ability to think in several languages!
Next week, the startling climax to Die Now, Die Later, as Racer Lad and Van Schleiser face off!
Thanks for putting the translation. I was getting confused there thinking I was reading two languages…and I was RIGHT!
I tried to make them two distinct languages… whether or not the idea that she thinks in several different languages came across, I'm not sure!
I love this villain, Jerry! You made him look fantastic. I spent the better part of five minutes just gazing wondrously at the technique you used to color today's installment. Very, very nice!
Thanks a lot George! I did my normal method, and worked a bit more with the dodge and burn tools in Photoshop.
Now we briefly get to see what Van Shleiser can do against an actual opponent (as opposed to just beating the crap out of BW)!
I've never gotten the nerve to try anything with dodge and burn on PS. There's so much I just don't know, but would love to attempt. I could probably make my stuff look at least a tenth as good as yours. 🙂
Don't be so hard on yourself, George! The look of Addanac City is distinctive and you're a gag-a-day MACHINE! 😀 You're awesome at doing Addanac, and I'm good (hopefully) at doing Bunny Wiggins. I'm always trying to improve though. Even now, I'm thinking of a drawing style revamp for the comic. More to come.
I've always loved PS. I've been working in it since Photoshop 3… in the 1990's – before they even had layers and a history palette. At my last gig, I was the go to guy for difficult photo retouching (ie- making bleachers in a gym group shot disappear). I've often said that you could work in photoshop for years, and still discover new things… and I do.
Is there something wrong with your site? I can't get the comic image to appear.
Thanks, Peter! It looks like I'll have to do some troubleshooting… I just did the wordpress update yesterday, and I have a sneaking suspicion that might be the culprit!
The problem appears to be fixed now
Yes, I can see it now! A comic site without a comic is missing something.
I thought Racer Boy did it in the last comic!
I know!… you seem to have a way of predicting the nifty little twists and turns in my stories! I do the same thing with the TV shows my wife watches.
Great Action Pose at the end. Looks like Racer Boy is about to be in for more pain.
Yeah… I think you can safely say that they are BOTH heading for lots of pain!
You put Racer Boy down but never out! Love how Van Schleiser is so formal, even in the heat of battle. Great action and color, too!
Thanks, Mark!…It takes more than a few hundred bullets to stop Racer Boy! VS just has this melodramatic way about him… he's actually become fun to write for, because he takes everything so seriously.
Excellent! A problem that can be solved with violence is the best kind of problem! Of course, that's all kinds of problems.
Although in the world of BW, these solutions get out of hand very fast!
…and then she starts speaking in the sexiest language of all: Pig Latin!
Or as it\’s called colloquially, Igpay Atinlay!
The 'second wind' is deadly. Now it's ON!
Racer Boy is going to be feeling some pain!
That's a action packed page.
Thanks Daniel! These pages are the toughest pages to draw!
I hope The Big V isn't going to get hurt??? That would be sad…
Big V is in a dangerous line of work… by tangling with Racer Boy, he's taking his life in his hands… but that's what he does!
“I cannot believe this” would be better translated as “Das kann ich nicht glauben.”
(“Ich kann das nicht glauben” would also be acceptable, but “diesem” is the wrong case. (Third (Dativ), when it should be fourth (Akkusativ).) “Dies” works, but seems too formal for the occasion.)
Thanks for the correct translation… I will have to revisit the comic and make a few corrections!
