It’s parodying exploitation movies, with convenient clothes ripping, etc. I enjoy the figure drawing aspect. It’s not that different than woman heroes running around in spandex. There’s only a couple more pages of CE running around in her underwear, then the next few stories aren’t as racy.
The next couple of stories are only two to three pages long, so it's technically true! The gratuitousness will always be a part of the comic, so that's not going away. It would surprise me if someone who regularly reads BW is legitimately offended by a character running around in their underwear for several pages.
I think I was being disingenuous in my previous comment… my apologies. I will edit it. I think there are probably some out there who would prefer that I drop the raciness, but that's not going to happen.
Good casting indeed! LOVED the Muppet Show… Unfortunately, I missed a lot of it because it aired on Thursday nights during my Boy Scout meetings… this was pre-VHS, so if you weren't home, you missed it! I didn't realize Alley Oop was still around. I guess it's one of those "legacy" comics they run long past their prime – like Blondie or the Katzenjammer Kids.
Maybe a couple of lighthearted tweets?
That's a good idea, but she's probably not in the mood… maybe she could share her status on Facebook –
OMG! Trapped in a broom closet… stalked by a psychopath.Looking forward to pizza night later!

The only good thing about that rambling speech was it gave us a chance to admire your work, Jerry!
Thanks, Mark! That was a fun panel to draw!

Enjoy the gratuitousness! For every reader who likes it, I probably alienate five.
I swear, Jerry…if you're not careful, people are going to think that you actually enjoy drawing women in their underwear.
Who? me?! *sound of laugh track*

The next few stories aren't as racy? Boo I say! Boo! I think you've got the balance perfectly in this story

A very nice alley oop sequence. Now I have to go back to page 1 to refresh my memory as to where we were there…
True, these stories drag on kind of long, and it may be tough to remember why this is happening in the first place!
Wasn't Ally Oop a caveman?
Yes indeed, my bear friend! There was even a song about him in the 50's.
The covered that song on the Muppet Show, with Animal playing the role of Alley Oop (good casting, methinks).
I think the Alley Oop comic might still be running, but I'm not sure.

I see London, I see…aw, what's the point?
Yeah, you can see pretty much all of Europe and a little bit of Asia!
Finally, someone taking advantage of the long winded villain, and just getting out of there. And with style too. 🙂
Clare Ekko is a pretty smart cookie!
Man, that was the best villain "back story" montage I've "avoided" in a while. I'd much rather watch her than her some bad-guy's origins and plans. 🙂
