Uh oh… looks like there’s gonna be some serious carnage at Megalith Industries next week… You probably don’t want to miss that! Just be aware that it will be VERY violent, and might be considered R rated.

Panel 3. Yes. More of this kind f thing!
There\’s more of it coming!
Bout time the R Rating shows up that I have been promised haha
Ah, but now I only promise a PG-17! So I guess you can say yore getting more than you\’ve bargained for…. Go on… SAY IT!
Gosh Jerry. My characters never looked this good…
Hmmm… I wonder if Barry or Cedric would wear something like that???
Thanks, Tony! As it is now, I draw every day, and I'm always looking for inspiration in other artists work. If you feel the need to improve your skills, pick up a book or two on cartooning… If you're interested, I could recommend a few.
Lately I've been watching a lot of Youtube instructional cartooning videos. Book-wise what would you recommend?
I'll start with two – "How To Draw Cartoon Animation" by Preston J. Blair… it shows you how to construct cartoon faces using basic shapes. It's a pretty basic book, but it will probably help… especially in drawing funny animals… which seems to be something that you like to do!
"How To Draw Comics the Marvel Way" By Stan Lee and John Buscema is a classic… more for comic books then for gag strips… but there are good guides on how to draw people/anatomy.
Another thing that may help, would be to draw from photos…a lot of drawing is about training the eye, and seeing.
Thanks Jerry. I'll look into it.
I do find that when I am drawing something that I'm not used to I usually look it up on Google images to get a feel for what I wanna draw. For example I drew a seagull the other day & no matter how much I tried I just couldn't get it looking right until I looked at a few seagull photos.
Just found & downloaded a PDF of the Blair Preston book. Thanks a lot Jerry for the advice. Much appreciated.
When 'time to bring some wrath' is actually said. It's go time.
You said it!..
I've always loved that phrase "It's go time"
I think maybe that costume killed her!
I imagine the color pink might be a bit much for some people to handle!
I can't believe you shot Empulse….off screen!! How can we be sure it really happened? But beyond that, Jerry, the next time I dig into a particularly big sandwich, I'll first whisper, "…time to bring the wrath…"
Yeah… I committed a story telling no-no… but she is laying on the ground in the last panel, so that should help people get the idea (I hope).
You must do some intense sandwich eating, V! All I say is "nom nom nom" and the sandwich is gone… then again, I make very small sandwiches.
Amping up the action! I like the way you didn't directly show Empulse getting shot. We get to experience it from Joy's perspective.
Yeah, I like the suspense it creates- did she really get shot? If so, it could be fatal, minor or it could have been deflected by her bullet proof pink top!
True, Joseph… It is left in the air as to what her condition is… But we find out near the end of the story. I think the pink outfit was designed to blind her opponents so they couldn’t shoot… but it was a design fail!
Thanks, Mark! I did it for a practical reason, too… I didn’t want to use half a page showing a minor character getting shot… The effect it has on her teammates will be the important part!
I don't know which I like more: the awesome fast-paced action or those wonderful uniforms the ladies are wearing (or barely wearing). I think it may be a combination of everything that keeps me coming back. 🙂
Maybe I'm onto something…Thanks, George!
